Fan Girls For Life by Ana & Ciel: Bride of the Century Ep 15

Since it’s the last two eps of BC, Ciel and I decided to chat while live streaming episode 15 and 16. I will be covering ep 15 while Ciel will be covering 16.

Again please take note that we are two crazy fan girls watching a Korean drama without subs amidst the fact that we don’t speak nor understand the language. Please excuse the scenes or items we did not understand while watching, rather, we hope you get to share our feelings while we watched the episode…..

I decided to include even our conversation during the commercial prior to BC because I think it was funny =)

Ciel: Ha Ji Won dancing

Ana: Yup, saw her

Ciel: Jeon Ji Hyun is so pretty!.....What! Koreans have males modeling for mascara, quite odd!

Ana: Jeon Ji Hyun’s style in the commercial looks like Cheon Song Yi (Jeon Ji Hyun’s character in You Who Came From the Stars)

Bride of the Century Ep. 15

Ana: Doo Rim looks so happy at first she thought it was Kang Joo visiting her only to find Yi Kyung’s mom

Ciel: Sigh! They replayed the whole scene again……..Oh no, Soompi still down!

Ana: Yi Kyung’s mom looks crazy now

Ciel: Kang joo, wake up please, your wife is in danger.

Ana: I wonder why KJ fell asleep

Ciel: The ghost made him sleep….

Ana: The ghost is scolding evil mom

Ciel: The ghost looks so pretty

Ana: Evil mom looks different in hanbok

Ciel: Who the hell strangles a baby??? I really pity the baby

Ana: The ghost looks really pretty , did we watch her in other dramas….wait why is the guy in joseon times wearing a suit?

iel: Yup, why? Is he the Tae Yang heir?

Ana: Evil mom in her former life seems to be Doo Rim’s mom…

Ciel: Doo Rim and the ghost looks like servants in their former life….

Ana : Yup they look like servants

Ana : The guy in suit likes the ghost

Ciel: There’s another girl, she looks like the legal wife of the Tae Yang heir or head of the family. This guy looks like a playboy.

Ana: The Tae Yang heir gives out a dirty old man vibe

Ciel: I don’t think the setting is Joseon maybe it’s around 1914 just a hundred years ago…. They should have put a really cute guy in his place, he looks like a pervert.

Ana: Yup that’s the term he does look like a pervert.

Ciel: He must really be the Tae Yang heir since the servants and wife are wearing hanbok.

Ana : (during the scene in the clothes line) The back ground music is the same one used in Jang Ok Jung during the similar scene.

Ciel : Yeah! …….The ghost has many scenes in this episode, time for her to shine.

Ana: This scene is suppose to make us squeal with delight but instead it makes me want to puke , maybe if they put a younger and more handsome guy this scene might have worked.

Ciel: Maybe they can’t get a cuter actor because of budget constraints.

Ana: Yeah you’re right maybe they spent much of the budget in Yi kyung’s wardrobe thus the lack of budget for a cute actor

Ciel: Maybe the legal wife is infertile they never showed a scene where she has a child……The Tae Yang heir looks really old.

Ciel: Yuck why do they have to flirt in public now the legal wife and evil mom saw them

Ana: This is crazy, how come evil mom and the legal wife just looks at the lovebirds flirting in public

Ciel What is the ghost getting?

Ana: Needle

Ciel: Is she going to kill the Tae Yang heir?

Ana : It looks that way….how come the voice over says Abuji? Is he her father, yuck incest!

Ciel: No I think she is saying revenge for her father….If that’s her father that’s too much

Ana: Ahhh ok hehe (blush)

Ciel: He he…The flashbacks are dragging, meaning there will be less KJ and DR moments.

Ana : Yes and even in the old time we barely see DR

Ciel: Evil mom is feeding information to the Tae Yang heir and she is asking him to kill the ghost….oh no lost the connection,…..oh well I’m back again

Ana: The ghost and the Tae Yang heir are talking.

Ciel: Maybe he found out her real identity and he knows she wants revenge

Ana: Ok. The Tae Yang heir looks really angry and hurt…..What are they talking about?

Ciel: Another dragging scene ugggh! Is this really necessary

Ana: This really sucks we don’t understand what they are talking about.

Ciel: Maybe this is the director’s way of telling us non-korean speaking fan girls not to watch live and wait for the subs first hehe!

Ana: Ooops ghost pregnant already

Ciel: Lol! Just because she felt like puking she is pregnant already, maybe it’s indigestion or something

Ana: Ha ha!

Ciel: DR said Omoni to former pres ma, she really is her mother.

Ana: Evil mom at work again, she’s strangling the ghost

Ciel: I don’t get why she also wants to kill the baby

Ana: Yup they had their chance while she’s pregnant but no they waited until after she gives birth…..Weird!

Ciel: Oh no we saw this scene 3 times already

Ciel : The legal wife looks familiar

Ana: Now that the baby is alive the evil mom is giving it to the legal wife….definitely weird! The legal wife is asking Evil mom to go away she seems to be giving her money, I don’t think she is the legal wife’s mom.

Ciel: I thinks the evil mom is the head maid…………….At last the olden times part is finished

Ana: Yup that’s too much, it’s already almost half of the episode ugghh!

Ciel: Yay! KJ is awake

Ana : So the ghost took over DR’s body to scare evil mom….Ooops this scene looks like KJ’s dream when he found DR unconscious on the floor.

Ciel: KJ! Bring her to the hospital so that it will be revealed DR is pregnant

Ana: I hope DR will report President Ma to the police for trying to strangle her……. I’m glad DR is ok…..Evil mom looks guilty again

Ciel: Soompi is up again!

Ciel: I hope Pres Ma kills herself

Ana: Pres Ma really looks crazy already.

Ciel: Yi Kyung is still alive

Ana: I thought she died

Ciel: But she’s only blankly staring in space.

Ana: I wonder why Pres Ma freaked out.

Ciel: And then now she is eating heartily

Ana: At first she looks ok eating but now she suddenly looks craxy

Ciel : Realy crazy! Oooops Pres Ma using her hands to eat….ewww, she looks like a pig

Ciel: I think the Pres Ma and Yi Kyung will end up in the psychiatry dept in a hospital

Ana: I think Pres Ma is really bordering on crazy

Ciel: So the news came out….the tomato rather egg throwing scene will be next….oops Im wrong.

Ciel: Roo Mi is prettier now that she’s no longer evil

Ana: Yes she does……why is KJ talking to Pres. Ma

Ciel: Because he was just made aware that YK tried to commit suicide

Ana: Yi Hyun looks helpless

Ciel: Yes he does….he is too kind for his own good

Ana: He looks like he is going to give up soon

Ciel: KJ’s mom still not ready to accept Doo Rim

Ana: What’s her problem?.....Ugh all talk and we can’t understand what they are saying

Ciel: I don’t think KJ’s mom wants her son happy

Ana: It’s ok if she don’t like since KJ’s dad adores her

Ciel: This episode is full of sad moments

Ciel: KJ’s mom asked the servants to throw the offering paraphernalia for the ghost

Ana: I thought KJ’s mom and dad are divorcing

Ciel: The mom is going to wish she did not do this

Ana: This episode is just too hard to take in

Ciel: Yes it is.

Ana: There isn't a single squeal worthy moment

Ciel: Just 25 more mins. I hope they will still show a sweet scene.

Ana : KJ Dad is asking the mom to leave?

Ciel: There she is leaving the ancestral house now…she still looks bitchy even when she is leaving, it seems she only likes Roo Mi for KJ

Ana: I really don’t understand why KJ’s mom can’t accept DR

Ciel: I think it’s because KJ loves DR while KJ’s dad was never in love with her

Ana: She has not learned her lesson up until now.

Ciel: Go halmoni…go inside the restaurant

Ana: So this is the egg scene…..Yey KJ to the rescue!

Ciel: uggh lagging here

Ana: I think the most sweet scene we can get from this episode is holding hands (sigh)

Ciel : DR visited YK

Ana: YK has this lost look

Ciel: And of course DR pities her

Ana : YK got scared of DR when DR held YK’s hand

Ana: DR is having flashbacks of all the bad things happening after she married KJ. She’s looking back to Pres Ma strangling her neck and when some people dropped by her restaurant to throw eggs at her. She’s even looking back at KJ’s mom not accepting her

Ciel: Waaah! Don’t sacrifice yourself DR

Ana: The ghost is listening to her and she seems to be telling her something

Ciel: DR and ghost talking

Ciel: The ghost seems to be telling DR that she’s pregnant

Ana: I hope the ghost told DR to be happy with KJ and do not mind the bad people and the not so nice things happening

Ciel: I hope so too

Ciel: OMG! It’s about to be finished and my connection is lagging

Ana: DR is thinking again and then she is talking to halmoni.

Ciel: What’s that term? Idiot something?

Ana: Noble idiot

Ciel: Yeah! Noble Idiocy

Ana: That’s it

Ciel: From the looks of it, the ending scene will be DR leaving KJ. Grrrr!

Ciel: (Sigh) DR is crying while she talking about KJ, she don’t know what to do

Ana: Yup she said otoke….that’s the only thing I understood from what she said

Ciel: Ooooh KJ dad talking to DR

Ana: I hope KJ dad will talk some sense into DR

Ciel: Hope so

Ciel: Because this episode is so depressing I hope they show previews of the last episode

Ana: Yes please! And because it’s sad whole ep 15 maybe they can do the whole ep 16 happy

Ciel: OMG! I bet everybody hates DR after this ep

Ana: I think DR will break up with KJ already

Ciel: KJ’s sweater matches the sheets

Ana : DR crying on the phone while KJ seems so happy on the other end of the line

Ciel: DR is singing

Ana: Keep on singing DR…..I suddenly remember Jeremy (Lee Hong Ki’s character in You’re Beautiful) singing in the bus after his haert break. DR’s song and Jeremy’s sounds similar they seem to be children’s song.

Ciel: Yup it’s similar…..DR’s song seem to have an I love you in it’s lyrics

Ciel: How come the ghost did not tell DR she is pregnant. It seems she will tell her after she leaves KJ. Uggh last 11 mins of the drama

Ana: Oh no DR left already

Ciel: Goodbye letter from DR to KJ. Grrrrrr! I don’t think she said goodbye in person even to Jin Joo

Ana: In the earlier scene DR seem to tell the butler to take care of KJ

Ciel: Why did she have to keep her leaving a secret!

Ana: I’m so sad! I feel for KJ

Ciel: Sad and angry! Be guilty Yi Kyung!

Ana: Now Yi Kyung is starting to react…..no more far away look

Ciel: I really feel like YK is DR’s sister

Ana: Because they look identical right but before when Yi Hyun asked DR to pose as YK he said that he checked DR’s background and they are not related in any way

Ciel: YK is ok now she seems to react to DR and so this time YK is not so selfish

Ana: I wonder what she is saying about DR

Ciel: YK looks sad when she is suppose to look happy and now Pres. Ma is also angry….last 5 mins of the show.

Ana: Maybe YK wants to be good to DR

Ciel: Oh no Pres. Ma strangling YK ….Ghost to the rescue she seems to tell Pres Ma that she killed her own daughter in her past life….

Ana: Pres. Ma to the mental hospital

Ciel : Ooooh she’s a mental case now….lagging again

Ana: YK and mom still talking to each other at the hospital. Yk seems to be reminding Pres Ma of DR

Ciel: Is it me? She seem to look prettier without make up

Ana : I hope Pres Ma will not try to strangle YK again

Ciel: Awww KJ looking at DR’s pictures and he only got 2 pictures of her….so sad!

Ana: KJ so emotional like his dad maybe he will also listen to a sad song while reminiscing of his times with DR

Ciel: Is KJ dreaming? Ghost please tell KJ where DR is.

Ana: Awww the ghost is taking care of him

Ciel: The ghost is wearing a white pretty outfit? Does it mean she is at peace now

Ana: KJ looks so young sleeping like that.

Ciel: Yup

Ana: When the ghost visits KJ she is always in white

Ciel: Please ghost tell KJ where DR is

Ana: KJ is at the altar again

Ciel: Lagging here

Ana: (Sigh) KJ in a melancholy mood with voice over

Ciel: And my connection is back…..it’s the beginning scene again

Ana: Are the past life DR and ghost sisters?

Ciel: I think they are talking about babies

Ciel: Halmoni’s secret has not been revealed yet

Ana: I think the ghost is thankful to DR because of what she did in her past life

Ana: Now it’s the pregnant DR scene

Ciel: Oh, ok.

Ana: KJ please find DR soon it's in a high place with windmill (lol!)

Ana: Ghost seems to be talking to DR

Ciel: Is it finished?

Ana: (Sigh) Preview please
Cie: I have to say this episode is the weakest

Preview Time...

Ciel: Oooooh previews

Ana: Time leap ( I think!)

Ciel: Grrrr! I feel disappointed! I don’t think a time leap is necessary

Ana: Yup me too

Ciel: When KJ got the yarn, do you think DR has given birth already?

Ana: I am not so sure but the look of KJ mom and dad seems different that’s why I think there is a time leap

Ciel: I hope the preview will be at the TV chosun you tube account now.

Ana: I might be wrong in the time leap thing

Ciel: I really hope KJ and DR will reunite before DR gives birth

Ana: I hope so too. ….There’s a scene in the preview when KJ carried a child from a toy car

Ciel: In the yarn scene the paper bag from which the yarn fell from seem to have some toys inside but I am not sure. Waaaah!

Ana: The scene was so fast I only remember seeing the red yarn

Ciel: Now I really feel so heavy inside

Ana: Yup I cannot understand why the director is giving us a lack luster ep 15 . I really hope that ep 16 will only have very few sad moments and will be a happy episode in all…..please I need to feel better tomorrow after this episode

Ciel: Me too! Im off now to read comments in soompi. Good night! It’s a date again tomorrow night!

Ana: Good night! Tomorrow again!

Final Comments

Just before the start of ep 15 I suggested to Ciel that I will cover 15 and ask if she can cover 16. After watching ep 15 I can’t help but feel like taking it back…..Waaah ep 15 depressed both me and Ciel so much. It’s the first ep of BC that felt flat for both of us but oh well we love Kang Joo and Doo Rim so much will be there for them till the end.

Of course I don't want to end this write up with a sad note so let's reminisce on the happy times together....
